Tips to Get the Most Out of Your CFA Course Practice
Practising questions without a method will only get you so far. Here is what actually moves the needle in your CFA course preparation:
- Time every session: You get 90 seconds per question in the real exam. If you are taking five minutes per question during practice, you will not finish on exam day.
- Read every explanation: Even when you get a question right, read the full explanation. You may have picked the correct answer for the wrong reason, and that will cost you on similar questions later.
- Track your weak topics: After each session, note which topics gave you trouble. Return to those areas in isolation before your next full practice round.
- Do full mock runs: At least twice before your exam, complete a 90-question session in one go with no breaks and no distractions. This prepares your mind for exam-day conditions.
- Do not ignore Ethics: Ethics carries 15 to 20 percent of your score at Level 1. Practising CFA example questions on ethics scenarios separately will give you an edge that many candidates overlook.
